From Curiosity to Connection — The Story Behind Anja’s Bracelets
More Than a Bracelet — A Story From One of Our Customers
Sometimes, what we make is not just something you wear.
Sometimes, it becomes part of someone’s journey.
A few weeks ago, we received a message from a lovely customer, Anja.
She had just received her order — and while she loved her Germany bracelet, there had been a small mistake with the second one. A human error on our side.
But what happened next is exactly why I love doing what I do.
Instead of frustration, there was kindness.
Instead of complaints, there was understanding.
And then… something even more special happened.
🌍 A Journey That Started With Curiosity
Anja shared something I did not expect.
She told me that not long ago, she didn’t know much about the Arab world — like many of us. But after reading interviews and learning more about history, culture, and perspectives often overlooked, something changed.
She became curious.
Then interested.
Then deeply connected.
She started learning, reading, and exploring a culture far from her own — not through stereotypes, but through understanding.
🧵 When a Bracelet Becomes Meaningful
The bracelets she designed were not random.
Each colour, each detail, carried meaning.
One bracelet represents the UAE and Oman — countries she has grown to admire for their culture, hospitality, and balance between tradition and modern life.
Another design reflects something even more symbolic:
The white and black bracelet represents traditional Emirati dress — the white Kandura, the Ghutra, and the black Agal.
It also connects to Al-Ayyala, a traditional dance symbolising honour and heritage.
This is not just design.
This is storytelling.
❤️ Why This Matters to Us
When I started BM Nautical Bracelets, I never imagined moments like this.
A bracelet made in a small workshop in Ireland…
Becoming part of someone’s personal journey across cultures, ideas, and understanding.
That is something special.
🤝 A Small Reminder
This story is not about politics.
It’s about something much simpler:
👉 Staying curious
👉 Listening to others
👉 Seeing beyond what we are told
👉 And finding connection where we least expect it
⚓ From Ireland to the World
Anja’s bracelets will now travel with her — as a reminder:
To keep learning.
To keep exploring.
And one day… to visit the places that inspired them.
And for us, here in Ireland — it’s a reminder that what we create can carry more than style.
It can carry meaning.
Thank you, Anja, for your kindness, your story, and your trust. 💚
